    Description

    Antique Rare Butterfly Collection captured in South Brazil. These moths/butterflies are old and well preserved and in beautiful condition. An opportunity for you to add to your collection. The wooden and glass shadowbox is 16 1/2" in height and 20" in width. There are
    original hand written descriptions, from the person whom caught and mounted, indicating a name of the particular moth/butterfly. Some names that can be identified, without opening the case, are Dasyophthalma principesci, Tisiphone hereyna, Caligo martia, Caligo brasiliensis, Caligo bellrao. Hopefully I transcribed the correct spelling as it is handwritten and aged. There are a total of 19 mounts in this case. There are no dates under the specimen in this case, however, this collection is a part of a larger collection from the original collector and some of those do have dates under the specimen dating back to the early 1950's.
