    Description

I am selling a used DigiTech Vocalist Workstation EX effects unit, in good physical and excellent working condition. This sophisticated product creates harmonies (up to four parts—five parts counting the originally sung part) for notes sung into a microphone connected to it. Thanks to the unit's pitch recognition, the harmonies can change depending on the notes being sung. The created harmonies can be chordal (scale-tone triads, seventh-chords, etc.), scalar, or parallel intervals; the key of the harmonies can be selected on the fly by using the "keyboard" switches on the unit's front panel, or by a hardware MIDI keyboard or controller (or software that can send MIDI data, such as a sequencer or DAW) connected to it.
The Vocalist Workstation EX contains preset harmony voicings (from simple doubling/thickening settings to four-part voicings in various styles); you can also define and store your own voicings by either editing the presets or starting from scratch. It also has a number of preset "effects", and a mode that lets you play voices, via MIDI device or front-panel keyboard, that are completely independent of the sung input voice.
The Vocalist Workstation EX has a built-in mic preamp for its XLR input jack (serviceable quality IMO; better-sounding external mic pres are readily available), and a 1/4" TRS line-input jack for use with an external mic preamp. The line input is switchable between +4 dBu (pro-audio "line level") and -10 dBu (guitar/semi-pro level), so the unit can be used with guitars, mixing boards, etc. The unit also has internal reverb (again, better-sounding and much more tweakable reverbs are common). I recently replaced its internal CR2032 battery (for keeping user patches stored in the unit's memory).
The many features of this unit make it extremely flexible; like all such gear, getting the most out of it takes some time and attention, including reading its manual. A PDF file of the manual is available at https://www.manualslib.com/products/Digitech-Vocalist-Workstation-Ex-9367546.html or at https://www.fullcompass.com/common/files/754-VocalistWorkstationManual.pdf. The original paper manual and "tips" guide are included with my unit; also included is a DigiTech FS300 three-button footswitch & cable, for foot control of stepping through the unit's patch list and bypassing/enabling the unit.
I stopped using my Vocalist Workstation EX years ago; I'd love to pass it along to someone who could put it to use!
