Description
This is a fully restored 4/4 violin, or if youprefer, call it
a fiddle,There is an old, partially torn, label visible inside the f hole: Edward Reichert, Dresden fecit anno 1913 (the last digit is mostly torn off, but it looks like a 3) There is also a repairer's pencil handwriting, but it is impossible to read. This is a quality handcrafted instrument made in the Reichert shop in Dresden, Germany known for producing great sounding violins. The violin has been repaired in the past, as the old writing inside the f hole indicates, and also has been fully restored recently to a ready to play condition. There are old repaired cracks on the top deck; two on the lower bout coming down from each f hole and one on the upper bout to the right of the fingerboard. There is also a repair on the lower part of the central seam on the back. All repairs have professionally and are completely stable. The violin is structurally sound and in great ready to play condition. It has excellent tone and projection as is; it will be even better with new quality strings. Dimensions are: length of body 14 and 1/8" and width 8 and 1/4". Returns allowed within 14 days of purchase.
