Textured or texturized vegetable protein (TVP), also known as textured soy protein (TSP), soy meat, or soya chunks is
a defatted soy flour product, a by-product of extracting soybean oil
. It is often used as a meat analogue or meat extender. It is quick to cook.
How to prepare?
Soya in salted hot water for 5 - 7 minutes and strain away the excess water.
Wash with cold water and squeeze soya thoroughly.
Add flavour mix (flavour mix sachet included in soya packet) and let it maintain 4 minutes.
Heat oil (10ml) and temper ground ginger and garlic, rampe , curry leaves, onions and green chilies.
Add marinated soya and temper for 3 minutes.
Add 1 cup of water (200ml) and add tamarind or tomatoes and simmer for 4 minutes.
