Description
This lovely pink vintage Depression Glass open lace edge tri-foot ribbed candy or flower bowl is stunning and versatile.Put water in it and add the clear glass crystal "frog". Insert cut flowers through the holes for a pretty touch! Or display your favorite candies heaped up in the bowl! The frog is 4" in diameter and the bowl is 3.5"H x 7" diameter and elevated with three 1/4" feet. It was made by Hocking Glass Company, Lancaster, Ohio between 1935-1938. Hocking Glass named this pattern "Lace Edge" and it has erroneously also been called "Old Colony" due to a department store display of the time photographed with that name but invented by someone other than Hocking. The open lace edge has two continuous not joined individual cracks
in the lace
not easily visible or causing a separation. Both areas feel mostly smooth on the top and bottom surfaces without sharp edges. (See last photo). The glass is thick and together on this
very pretty and usable piece making it a charming addition for your collection.
