Up for sale is this Jackson Guldan Co.Violin labeled
Copy Stradivarius Cemonensis Faciebat Anno 17 with Case! Made in the USA!
DISCLAIMER:
I know VERY little about violins. Please look at all the pics closely and ask any questions you may have!
A bit of history from a bit of Googling: The Jackson Guldan Company incorportated in 1915 and produced violins in Columbus, OH until going out of business in 1971. Like most of the world's violin makers, they produced copies of the Stradavarius violin, one of which is offered for sale here. I don't have a date for this violin.... but you can see the logo / label in my pics.
CONDITION:
First, it needs restrung (has 2 strings) and there is a peg missing. A bridge is included, but is not one the violin, as it only has 2 strings. Having said that, the body seems to be in quite good condition. But again, please look at the pics closely and ask any questions. As an amateur, it looks quite beautiful. I don't see any cracks or major repairs on this one. There is scratching where the bridge goes and the typical dings, scuffs, etc. as you would expect from age and use. If you'd like to see more closeup pics, just ask! There is a chin rest installed.
THE CASE:
The case is rough.... no 2 ways about it. There is actually a sort of hole where it took a hit at one point. There covering is scuffed off in many places. It does still latch fine and closes fine, so it still does it's job of protecting the instrument. It will be shipped in the case!
ONCE AGAIN:
Violin is sold as you see it.... it needs restrung and a replacement peg! Please don't ask to return it 'cause it's only got 2 strings! Thank you!
SHIPPING:
This will come to you quickly, well packaged and shipped for FREE via FedEx Ground or USPS Priority Mail, whichever is cheapest to your location!
Thanks for looking and please as any questions you may have!
