Absolutely gorgeous William Lewis & Son, German made 13" viola, model 2520-13. The grain and rich caramel luster of the finish are superb, and the instrument is in near immaculate condition, with just a few barely noticeable surface dings and scuffs. The single piece back is especially striking, with some splendid lateral flaming and deep amber tones. The sound post will need to be reset - something that any music store can do for a modest fee - and the instrument could probably do with a new set of strings. These very small expenses and inconveniences are generously reflected in the price - a used viola such as this typically sells for 0 or more. It's certainly possible there are adjustments required, as with any vintage instrument - I am not an expert, and there may be issues I am unaware of. The viola comes with a hard case, with a plush blue interior. This is an excellent student model, perfect for a young enthusiast who has demonstrated a passion for the instrument.
