"Full or 4/4 size violins fit those students who, when standing with left arm held out, even with the shoulder, and palm facing up, the distance (measure with a yard stick) from the left side of the student's neck out to the natural line where the wrist meets the hand = 21-1/4" or more. If in doubt, always err on the side of getting a smaller size violin because it's extremely frustrating for a child to work with a violin that is too big or too heavy."
