  • Condition: Willis Manning Gault Maker & Restorer Washington DC Fecit Anno Sept 1959 says the label inside this 3/4 Size Violin, at least that's what I think the date is, it's written indistinctly in fountain pen, the poor instrument has been dropped and needs the neck reset and some other glue work and finish. I thought it had been a decent instrument, at one time, but I'll never get to to the point of having it restored, so now it's your turn for a kick at the can so to speak... you are buying a project Violin that needs a lot of work and a vintage cloth hard case.

    THIS INSTRUMENT HAS BEEN DROPPED
    NEEDS A NECK RESET SOUND POST, TAIL REPAIR
    AND SHOWS SOME OLD REPAIRS
    IN FACT THE REASON I WANTED TO RESURRECT IT
    IS THAT SOME PAST OWNER THOUGHT IT WAS WORTH WHILE ENOUGH TO HAVE IT REPAIRED
    I HAVE LONGED TO HEAR ITS VOICE, BUT THE WORK
    REQUIRED MUST BE UNDERTAKEN BY A SKILLED LUTHIER, OR A CAPABLE STUDENT.
    IT IS NOT PLAYABLE IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION
    AND IS SOLD AS-IS A COMPLETE PROJECT
    THAT I BELIEVE WOULD BE WORTH WHILE TO RESTORE
    INCLUDES A CLOTH COVERED HARD CASE OF THE SAME VINTAGE.
